The Zephyr-2 is the latest intermediate wing designed by Windtech to satisfy the maximum number of pilots looking for a paraglider with many new and unique features that excels for its sink rate combined with an efficient and fun handling to maximize performance when climbing in weak and broken thermals. This is a complete new design starting from zero and there are plenty of new features that put this design above all the others wings in the market in safety and comfort.
The amazing performance on this wing is the result of a new profile that keeps stability and is a user friendly as any school glider but offers a plus in glide and speed and at the same time is very forgiving when making mistakes when deep braking. The result is a direct handling and the wing is responding immediately to brake input without any delay to profit from any lift we may find in our flight.
This is an three line concept -a pure three liner- without cascades in the rear part (the typical C-D cascade). Therefore the glide angle at high speed is not so badly degraded as in other recreational wings. The glide at maximum speed excels in the Zephyr-2. It is one point higher than in the Zephyr-1, which was already one of the best in the market in this type of wings.
Certified EN B the Zephyr-2 is the perfect balance for pilots looking for confidence, comfort and the performances of a modern XC wing. It is a wing unmatched among competitors when climbing and going fast and far in all type of flying conditions.

> The cell openings have been reduced and their positioning optimized. Therefore performances are improved but low speed flying behaviour is also optimized. The pressure inside the canopy thanks to this new setup is greatly improved making this wing very collapse resistant.
> New profile and new arch. The vault is flatter in the middle and has a more balanced and constant arch toward the wing tips for a slightly increased aspect ratio. This feature improves stability and pitch control. Launching is easier now and the pilot feels the wing closer at all moments.
> New diagonals. The Zephyr-2 is constructed with partial V-ribs improving the top sail without increasing weight which translates directly into better behaviour in rough air and a better inflation in no wind conditions.
> New set up of the attachment points to reduce the number of them and new V-rib internal structure making possible to have a unique three liner with very little line consumption and not loosing any comfort or safety.
> Miniribs in trailing edge improving turns at low speed and sink rate during turbulent and weak thermal flying.
> Optimized construction in all details such as SBS leading edge battens, socket Velcro for debris/sand cleaning, puffy handles equipped with swivels or special coating in competition lines form Liros that reduce parasite drag to a minimum and improve material fatigue over the long term. |
